The setting up of the committee is contained in a statement, signed by Permanent Secretary (Political Affairs), Malam Mahmoud Garba, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria.
It said the committee was to monitor the procurement, distribution and sale of petroleum products in the state, as well as ensure that there was no artificial scarcity.
The committee is to be chaired by Capt. M.A.Ningi, while Alhaji Hassan Yelwa, a Deputy Director in the State Emergency Management Agency, will serve as Secretary.
Others are the representatives of the State Security Service, Police, Department of Petroleum Resources and Ministry of Commerce.
NAN reports that for the past one week, petroleum products had become scarce in the state, leading to the re-emergence of long queues in petrol filling stations.
This week, the state governor, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar, and his deputy, Malam Nuhu Gidado, had to pay surprise visit to some stations, where they discovered sharp practices
