Hebrews 10:38; 11:7-11; Daniel
6:10, 20 – 22, Genesis 37:3-4, 18-28; 39:1-4; 40: 1-4
Only the just shall live by faith... all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. It is as we repent of our sin and by faith receive Him as Lord and Saviour shall we be declared just and then energized to love and live like Him. There are many people in scriptures whose lives and service pictures faith in God and His ability. Though it was of things not seen yet, but through faith Noah moved with fear and prepared an ark to the saving of his house.
Abraham had lived all his life in the Ur of the Chaldeans for seventy five long years; yet when he was called of God to go out into a place, which he should after receive for an inheritance obeyed, and he went out, not knowing whither he went. Despite the hostile and idolatrous environment in Babylon and the great danger of non-confirmity with ungodlness; by faith Daniel, Shedrach, Meshack and Abednego stood their ground preferring to die in the lions’ den and the furnace of fire than deny the Lord their Maker.
He did his brethren no wrong yet they hated him and were determined to eliminate him, he escaped death and by divine intervention, death sentence was converted to slavery for him, for refusing to compromise, his slavery was turned to imprisonment, yet through faith Joseph continue to live and serve God and his masters till the Lord remembered him and fulfil his destiny. When we devote our lives to doing what the Lord has called us to do and we are not bothered by the antics of men; this is life and service of faith.
